Glass is the main ingredient in today's  'green' buildings, that harness the heat of the sun to warm the building, with minimum electricity for heating and air conditioning. Unlike many other construction materials, it can be re-used an infinite number of times while conserving its properties.

Glass recycling is an ecological process in every aspect. It reduces waste to be treated or dumped, thereby reducing environmental damage, savings on waste transportation and disposal costs.

Glass is an non-toxic and inert material. It is easy to clean and maintain, having a dense surface, glass inhibits contamination. Glass is vastly recyclable and glass scrap  is the most essential ingredient added to the raw materials. Standard glass productions generally recycle over 65% of their output.

How Glass is Made?

Modern life just would be hard to imagine without glass. The mirror in which we brush our teeth, the windows and doors we look through, smartphones screens, the computer screens we use at work, the fiber optics infrastructure to the light bulb; glass is around us everywhere.

Glass is a mixture of sand and other minerals when melted together at very high temperatures to form a material that is ideal for a wide spectrum of use.

Glass is made by melting together several minerals at very high temperatures. Silica from sand is the main ingredient and this is combined with soda ash and limestone and melted in a furnace at temperatures of 1800°C. Numerous other minerals can be added to produce different colors and properties. Glass can also be coated, toughened, engraved or decorated.

Glass is 100% recyclable and can be recycled an infinite number of times without quality, strength and/or functionality degradation.
